Real Estate

Since our founding more than 50 years ago, Real Estate closings have and continue to be the forefront of our law practice. We close on a variety of transactions, including residential transactions and refinances, construction loans, development projects, and commercial real estate transactions. Our clients include buyers, sellers, borrowers, lenders, contractors, and developers, among others. Thousands have trusted us over the years to help take care of what is frequently a person’s largest financial investment. Our clients know we don’t take their trust for granted, because we show our commitment to earning that trust in every transaction.

Business Law

Our attorneys provide general legal services for many types of profit and non-profit businesses. These services include assistance in structuring business arrangements and in the negotiation and drafting of documents for many types of transactions, including the acquisition or disposition of businesses and business assets, the selection of business entities and organization, and financing of same. We also assist in changes to the structure of businesses and the winding up of a business upon dissolution.

Contracts

The real estate transaction begins with the negotiation and drafting of the contract. You can trust our firm’s wealth of experience in negotiating and drafting complex contracts for commercial and residential transactions and customizing contracts to fit your or your business’s unique needs. Good contract drafting helps to proactively prevent disagreement or litigation by anticipating and resolving potential issues before they can become a problem. We know well the impact a poorly drafted contract can have on a person’s life or business. You can trust our firm to do everything we can to ensure that contractual disputes never have the chance to arise.

Estate Planning

Estate Planning is an area of law that affects everyone. Whether drafting a will, ensuring a disabled child has a financial cushion for the future, or working through the difficult process of retirement and healthcare planning, our firm’s attorneys help clients structure and plan their estates so that they can feel confident of their future and the legacies they leave behind. Our team has a great deal of experience and success in handling complex estates, but estate planning is important no matter the size of your estate. At its core, estate planning is about planning ahead. We strive to help our clients understand the issues that will arise upon their disability or demise, looking at how these events will affect them and their loved ones. Helping clients understand their options, define their goals, establish an effective plan and assisting in the implementation of that plan is what we do.

Ask us about the advantages and disadvantages of specific trusts, tools, and techniques for minimizing tax burdens, avoiding the probate process, how to plan for long term or emergency health care, or any other questions you may have.

Probate

Probate, broadly speaking, is the infamously complicated process of administering a person’s estate after they die. People who enter the probate process after a loved one has died deserve the chance to mourn without the added worry of carrying out tough decisions for the deceased. We help lift the burden by advising executors and administrators about dispositions of assets and other important decisions for the estate. We also help avoid complicating things further, as often happens when someone attempts to probate an estate without understanding the process. There are different types of probate, and sometimes there may not even be a requirement for a probate at all. Helping you understand your options and explaining your duties and responsibilities are important parts of our services.

With all the pitfalls and complications of Probate, everyone could use some help. You can feel confident that our professionals will ease the process for you and your family and give you the best advice we can throughout.
